Best restaurants in Charlotte, NC 🇺🇸

Updated: May 24, 2023

I know Charlotte is not a worldly destination.....but is a place I love and currently call home for over a decade now. It has grown tremendously and the restaurant scene is getting more exciting. 😋

Ofcoz I had to start with an Asian restaurant…

Chinese Restaurant: Lams Kitchen

3016 Weddington Rd, #100. Matthews NC

Closed on Tuesdays, is the only Asian place we go. Dimsum is offered on weekends, not the best dimsum but better than nothing. If you ask me, the best item they offer is steamed live king crab with lots of garlic, but it can cost you. 🦀 🍚 🥢

Meddittrean: Limani

6902 Phillips Place Ct. Charlotte, NC 28210

The meddittrean diet is one of the healthiest options out there. Fish, olive oil, and citrus Greek wine, what’s not to like? Just open 11/2022 and I can honestly say is going to stick around for a long time. Charlotte was in desperate need of a good seafood restaurant. 🐠 🐟 🫒 🍷

Sushi: BAKU

4515 Sharon Rd. Charlotte, NC 28211

(704) 817-7173

Best quality fish, consistent food, and service! Quality comparable and exceeding some of the top brand sushi names! Modern & comfortable ambiance. Business downstairs, lounge upstairs with upbeat music which I love. Great sake list! 🍣 🍱

Tapas:

1701 Montford Drive. Charlotte, NC 28209

Is a stable place for me. Small menu and each dish are carefully prepared. Love their mussels and fried chicken.

Indian: Blue Taj

14815 Ballantyne Village Way,

Suite 170, Charlotte N.C 28277

Garlic Nan is a must-try. The best item on the menu for me is goat curry! Located inside Ballantyne Village.

1361 Chestnut Ln

Matthews, NC 28104

Delicious Mexican food! So glad they expanded, 2 locations in Charlotte. 🌮

4725 Piedmont Row Dr Suite 170, Charlotte, NC 28210

Not the newest or the most modern, but is classic, grand, and the way steakhouses should be! The endless wine list and lobster Mac and cheese are delicious. The downstairs private wine room is awesome. 🥩 🍷

7 S Main St, Belmont, NC 28012

Chef-owner Majid is one of the best pastry chefs in town. He’s expanding to Southend, opening summer of 2023. Coffee, French-inspired pastries, sandwiches, and macaron . 🎂 ☕️ 🥪

Korean: MOA

High-quality meats, cooking yourself is always a fun experience. Seafood pancakes and soups are great! Located in downtown.

Fast causal: Yafo

3 locations in Charlotte. Yafo is popular for many reasons. I love you can customize your food! Lots of great sides to choose from. One can never have too much tzatziki sauce. 😬

Vietnamese: Pho Hoa

3000 Central Ave. Charlotte, NC 28205

Surprisingly best dish is not pho, and a chain restaurant!.....try their specialty noodle dishes. The restaurant has been there for over 2 decades, so you know is legit!

Italian: Aqua E Vino

4219 Providence Road #3

Charlotte, NC 28211

Reservations are recommended since is a small place. Most items are homemade pasta and desserts. Menu changes seasonally.

Open Saturdays only 11am-Sold Out

116 Glenn Falls St, Peachland, NC 28133

I’m not a big bbq person but Jon G’s BBQ is to die for! All the side dishes were excellent too. The best part is the fatty brisket. you won’t be disappointed.

(Beware line can be long! A little 🐦 told me they catered JLO’s wedding)

Highly recommend for catering needs

Charlotte still has room to grow in the culinary department. We have plenty of BBQ options and breweries here. Hopefully, we can get more ethnic food options. I would love to see more French, Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese restaurant options.

dimsum, hotpot, pho, french....😋

I've heard many great things are coming in 2023 😊

To be continued.....
